November 2023 Update

ACCESS GRANTED! PRAISE GOD!

It is with great excitement, joy and praise to God that we announce the approval of our occupancy permit for our Central Campus expansion! It’s surreal to open the doors to our new home after this incredible journey which started over five years ago!  We have begun to move some ministries into the expansion and are taking a phased approach into the new year. This past weekend, November 24/25 we, that our Children’s Ministries K-Gr4 are now in the expansion and several other ministries have also started to move. What an exciting time!

Why are we moving in phases? How does this impact you? We encourage you to visit our Move In Announcement for more information on the move, as well as our FAQ for common questions and answers. Volunteers Needed

We now have the space, but will have the volunteers? With Children’s Ministry now in the expansion, we are going to need many new volunteers in roles that include working directly with children, or roles that do not include working with children, such as the Guest Services and more. Visit here to sign up!

Additionally, thank you to all volunteers who helped us clean some of the new spaces! We continue to need the help of volunteers to do a final clean of the new spaces and support other areas of need with the move, like assembling furniture, moving boxes and more! If you have already supported us in this capacity, we are so grateful! Your work has made a huge difference! If you haven’t, and you think you could lend a hand, please visit our BUILD website to sign up for volunteering to help with the move!

If you feel God calling you to serve in this capacity, please visit here for more information.

Important

Not all the spaces of the expansion are going to be available right away. We ask that all of us be filled with patience and grace for each other in this process. This transition is a significant effort for our staff and volunteers who are also conducting their normal ministry activities and preparing for the Christmas season. We hope you can also appreciate that not everything will go smoothly, though we are all doing our best! We appreciate your prayers as we iron out the bugs and make plans for other ministries as they move into the expansion in the new year.

Additionally, we ask that you hold off on inviting your friends, and if you are from another campus, please wait to visit the expansion at a soon to be announced event in early 2024. Stay tuned for more information.

These are this month’s top construction updates:
  • Praise the Lord that we received our occupancy permit for the Central Campus expansion; some spaces are not accessible while additional work is done.
  • Levels 1, 2 and 3 are available for ministry and some ministries are moving in right away. Others will move in the new year. Level 4 is being used for storage. Please watch for signage.
  • Renovations in the SW corner of the existing building will soon begin, starting on level 1.
  • The new entrance to the south parking lot from 37 Ave is open and fully functional.
  • Kitchenettes for coffee, snacks etc. are available on all levels.
  • Exterior concrete sidewalks, curbs, railings and bike racks have been installed.
  • The northwest and west areas next to the expansion have been paved.
  • Upgraded carpeting is being installed on the second level of the existing building.
  • Some operable walls (which divide large spaces into small spaces) have been installed. Some operable walls will arrive and be installed at a later date.

Importance of Prayer

Prayer of the month

Praise the Lord that the Central Campus Occupancy Permit has been received and the new spaces are available for ministry. Pray that all of us will have grace and patience for staff and volunteers as some ministries move in and navigate our new spaces. Pray for His peace and order as we move in over the coming weeks. Pray that God will use the new spaces for His Glory.

Finance Update

Through your generosity to October 2023, God has provided $21.6M (Chapter 1 $15.7M, Chapter 2 $5.9M) leaving $3.9M remaining in our Chapter 2 goal. We are grateful! We still have a way to go to reach our goal. Thank you for continuing to pray and persevere with us in our journey to “complete the work,” physically, spiritually, and financially, in the spirit of 2 Corinthians 8:11.
