PRAYER NEEDS – April 2024

Prayer of the month:

Pray that God will move through the newly approved Global construction projects supported by our generosity to BUILD more room for God. Pray for our partners at Victory Foundation, Inundo and VELA’s La Hermosa Church!

Praise report of the month:

Praise the Lord that He has empowered us and provided the resources to impact our city and our world for eternity!

Please join us in giving thanks and praying:

• Pray for continued healing and restoration in Elwyn Dahlke, our BUILD volunteer, who normally produces our monthly prayer updates and experienced a stroke in February. Praise God that he has already been experiencing significant improvements in his recovery.
• Through your generosity to March 2024, God has provided $23 M (Chapter 1 $15.7M, Chapter 2 $7.3M) leaving $2.5M remaining in our Chapter 2 goal.
• Pray for God’s prompting and provision in our generosity as a church. We still have a way to go to reach our BUILD giving goal which is described here.
• Praise the Lord that the chapel is complete and be praying for God’s blessing on the ministry happening out of those spaces.
• Pray that the operable walls for the gym will not experience any more delays and be installed in a timely manner.
• Pray for continued smooth construction and renovations on Level 1 of the SW corner in our existing facility and that we will be able to start construction on Level 2 in a timely manner.

ONGOING PRAYER NEEDS

We can pray in confidence that God will answer our prayers when we pray according to his will. 1 John 5:14-15 (NIV) “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” 

Praise the Lord for what He has done! 

• There are several months remaining in our construction journey; as we look back we are in awe of what the Lord has done and we look forward to how He will guide us through to completion and use the new spaces to accomplish His purposes.  
• Praise the Lord that the Central Campus Occupancy Permit has been received and that some ministries have already been using the new spaces for His Glory. Others will move in during the first several weeks or months of 2024.  
• He has been working in the hearts of our neighbours as evidenced by their attendance at our new Bearspaw Campus. Our Bearspaw Campus has now grown to more than twice, and almost three times the size that it was prior to having our permanent facilities.  
• Praise the Lord that many adults and children have made first time or re-commitment decisions for Christ in recent weeks. 

Pray for God’s guidance and wisdom during BUILD.

• Pray for CSC leadership, as God leads, including:
  • Campus Pastors: Travis Wilkins (Airdrie), Lawrence Irwin (Bridgeland), Kevin Carruthers (South), Kent Priebe (Central), and Mike Schorr (Bearspaw). 
  • Teaching Pastors: Pastor Henry Schorr and Pastor Ashwin Ramani

• Pray that ministry will proceed as the Lord directs during the BUILD projects, and that they will know the will of God in all decisions.  
• Pray for the Bearspaw Campus team as they continue reaching into the nearby communities from their new campus building. 
• Pray for all our campuses, that they will be able to pray for, care for and share with the people God puts on their path. Pray that they will find an opportunity to invite them to church so we can introduce them to Jesus, and help them become fully-devoted followers of Christ. 
• Pray that CSC’s relationship with Rocky View County, the City of Calgary, our neighbouring communities, and the Global Ministry sites will be enhanced during the BUILD projects.  
• Pray for BUILD Project Manager, Larry Fournier, and those working with him including CSC Site Supervisor John Harder and the Building Committee.  
• Pray for safety for the contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and labourers.  
• Pray that delays in material deliveries would resolve quickly so the construction schedule can be maintained. 
• Pray that equipment functions properly and doesn’t break down.  
• Pray for wisdom as we approach the end of our relationship with several of our contractors who will be completing the final work; then we will be closing out those contracts.

Prayer requests for our city and the world.

• Praise the Lord for HIS leading to this point in our journey to BUILD more room for God.  
• Pray for the leaders of Compassionate Ministry ,the New Canadian Friendship Centre and Monday Night Evangelism,  as they grow into the Centre for the City and respond to the growing need in our city for help and hope.  
• Pray that many will respond to the Gospel through our Monday Night Evangelism mission.  
• Pray that God would protect our partner missionaries and churches in Ukraine and Russia and give them His peace, courage, wisdom & power to continue to represent Christ faithfully in these uncertain days.  
• Pray for the global ministries that CSC supports. We invite you to visit this link and pray for the global ministries that God directs you to.  
• Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122) and resolution of the current war.  
• Pray for our Federal, Provincial and Municipal leaders. 

Pray for the Lord to help you BUILD more room for God in your life, family, community, and church.
