April 2024 Update
We are praising God for the many milestones we’ve celebrated with our BUILD projects since 2024 began! We are especially grateful for the completion of our Central Campus expansion where many of our ministries have been in full swing for a few months now. The chapel work has also been completed, and renovations on Level 1 of the SW corner are going smoothly.
Earlier this year we expanded the lens from our local projects to our global projects by showing how God is using our generosity to BUILD across the world!
ANNOUNCING THREE EXCITING NEW GLOBAL BUILD PROJECTS
10% of our giving to BUILD more room for God, is supporting missional construction projects in Calgary and around the world. To date, our giving has made an impact for the construction of Reconciliation Road in South Africa, four churches in Ukraine and a Ministry Centre in SE Asia!
Now we’ve approved funding for three more exciting projects that are made possible by your generosity to BUILD – they are:
- Inundo (South Africa) – supporting food security through the construction of accommodation for the training space at Inundo Farm in South Africa, so interns, trainees and leaders can learn about Jesus and principles from Farming God’s Way!
- La Hermosa Church (Mexico) – reinforcing facility foundations to ensure a safe, secure gathering place for worship, community and discipleship supported by our Global Workers at VELA.
- Victory Foundation (Calgary) – converting Forest Lawn’s Town and Country Hotel into affordable housing and spiritual support for seniors, single moms and women needing help to get back up on their feet.

SW CORNER RENOVATIONS CONTINUE
Renovations on the main level of the existing facility’s SW corner are continuing smoothly. Once they are complete, our Special Needs and Early Children’s Ministries will move into their new spaces, and the level 2 renovations will begin to develop multipurpose space that will serve Grades 5/6 Children’s Ministry and other ministries. Once level 2 is complete, our Grades 5/6 Children’s Ministry, and other ministries, will move into their new space.
Presently the Early Children’s Ministry is operating on the level 2 SW corner space and the Special Needs Ministry is using temporary spaces in the existing facility. We anticipate all renovations and construction being finalized sometime in the next several months (Spring to Fall of 2024).
These are this month’s top construction updates:
- Chapel work is now complete and ready for use, with minor details remaining.
- Renovations in Level 1 of the SW corner of the existing building are well underway. Drywall is completed and walls are painted. T-bar ceilings are being installed and millwork is being completed. We will also begin laying carpet this month.
- Special Needs Ministry and Early Childhood Ministries will move into their permanent new spaces in the SW corner after renovations have been completed – estimated sometime mid-2024.

- Most operable walls (which divide large spaces into small spaces) in the expansion have been installed with exception to the gym operable walls which were delayed and will hopefully begin installation in this month.
- Some exterior work such as line painting in the parking lot and landscaping is deferred to the Spring of 2024.

Finance Update
Through your generosity to March 2024, God has provided $23M (Chapter 1 $15.7M, Chapter 2 $7.3M) leaving $2.5M remaining in our Chapter 2 goal. We are grateful! We still have a way to go to reach our goal. Thank you for continuing to pray and persevere with us in our journey to “complete the work,” physically, spiritually, and financially, in the spirit of 2 Corinthians 8:11.
