Compassionate Ministries exists to love people facing challenge and poverty through supporting their practical needs and supporting them in long term sustainability so that they can move forward in their lives. In recent months we established the Career Connection Network, a group who regularly meets together to encourage each other and share job search skill ideas, networking, and to explore employment opportunities in the city. It’s a real encouragement for people to connect with others who understand where they’re at, as well as provide support in seeking a new or better job! Up to 40 people have been on this journey to assist each other and some of the individuals are now finding employment after months or even years of unemployment.

In Compassionate Ministries, our desire is to expand the resources and skills we offer with a computer lab, greater space and opportunity for business people to come and meet with those in need. Through providing other programs for food, clothing and city resources, we will see God move people to sustainability with Jesus!

DARLA (not her real name) was unemployed for over a year and through Compassionate Ministries and the Career Connection Network she began getting interviews and is now looking at a couple of good job offers. It was a privilege for us to walk with her and meet some practical needs as well as assist her in skills that lead to employment.
