Compassionate Ministries exists to love people into fullness of life so that each one of us would experience change, new beginnings and opportunities to come to a place of meaningful and lasting hope, perhaps for the very first time. We are seeing an increasing number of Syrian refugees who are coming to ministry programs and connections at our West Campus. Maria (not her real name) who was a civil engineer in Syria came to us seeking food and relationship because she was feeling alone here in Canada. We not only had the opportunity to help her meet practical needs, but also through conversations about Jesus and the importance of community, we were able to help her get connected here. She has since become a volunteer to other Syrian refugees seeking Jesus and belonging in our Compassionate Ministries. We are incredibly thankful for the favour of God that we’ve already experienced throughout this campaign. We are also very excited about the things God wants to continue to do through Compassionate Ministries as we make more room for God to impact people who are seeking connection, relationship and belonging!
